Your Texas Privacy Rights — Texas Data Privacy and Security Act
This page describes your rights as a Texas resident under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), effective July 1, 2024. ShopDPA respects the privacy of Texas homebuyers who interact with our site and submit information through our eligibility check.
Your TDPSA Rights
If you are a Texas resident, you have the right to:
- Know whether ShopDPA processes your personal data and access that data.
- Correct inaccuracies in your personal data.
- Delete personal data we maintain about you.
- Obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Opt out of the sale of personal data, processing for targeted advertising, or profiling that produces legal effects.
How to Exercise These Rights
To submit a TDPSA rights request, email privacy@shopdpa.com with the subject line “TDPSA Request” and include: (1) the right you are exercising, (2) the personal data category at issue, and (3) verification information sufficient to confirm your identity (typically the email address used to submit your eligibility check). ShopDPA will respond within 45 days as required by TDPSA §541.103.
Right to Appeal
If ShopDPA denies your TDPSA rights request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@shopdpa.com with the subject line “TDPSA Appeal” within 60 days of the denial. If your appeal is denied, you may file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General’s office at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
What Data We Collect
ShopDPA collects the data you submit through our eligibility check (name, email, phone, ZIP, household income, FICO range, household size, first-time-buyer status, occupation category). We may also collect standard browser data (IP address, device type, page views) via analytics. We do not collect Social Security numbers, dates of birth, government identifiers, or bank account numbers. See our full Privacy Policy for complete details on data collection, use, and retention.
